Legal Aid Services of Oregon Portland Regional Office
Legal Aid Services of Oregon (LASO) is a nonprofit organization working to achieve justice for the low-income communities of Oregon by providing a full range of civil legal help. LASO helps people with incomes up to 125% of the federal poverty level and in some situations can help people slightly above this level.
The Portland Regional Office of Legal Aid Services of Oregon provides free information, legal advice, brief services, and full representation in landlord-tenant cases, family law cases involving domestic violence, restraining order cases, employment discrimination, government benefits, fines and fees, and consumer law cases to people with low-incomes.
This office also runs the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, a statewide program.
For family law help, individuals should visit one of these listings for information on how to get help: (1) Multnomah County Domestic Violence Legal Services, (2) Clackamas County Domestic Violence Legal Services, or (3) Sherman, Wasco, & Hood River Counties Domestic Violence Legal Services.
If you think your legal issue is about government benefits (like disability benefits, Oregon Health Plan, food stamps, or unemployment), you may want to call the Public Benefits Hotline first.
